Phew. I’ve been so busy the last few weeks, writing, and running around getting everything set for the UNBROKEN launch, I feel like my brain is about to short-circuit. So for the first Sunday in forever, I decided to take the day off.
That’s right, you heard me: not working on a weekend. Crazy! I party hard, baby!
But the funny thing is, it’s been surprisingly hard to do. I guess once you get in a routine, you’re just so used to sitting down at the computer (and, umm twitter *blush*) that it takes real work to step back and say, ‘not today’. And since most of my writing time is stolen between work and other stuff anyway, just using that space to relax and unwind feels like the ultimate indulgence.
In the end, I haven’t done anything too wild. I got coffee with a friend this morning, pottered around the apartment doing laundry and chores, and later I’ll go see the Oscars at a friend’s place. But it’s made such an amazing difference to take the time. I feel rested already, and all set to write like hell next week.
How about you? How do you find time to rejuvenate when things pile up?
I hope you had a great weekend.
